Another option is to hang charms from a 'charm keeper' ring that allows you to add or remove charms.

About PVD coating - Physical Vapor Deposition is a process in which a solid material (gold) is vaporized in a vacuum and blasted onto the surface of the stainless steel moving from a condensed vapor and bonded to the metal creating a solid layer that greatly improves appearance and durability of the piece.
